We all need signposts along the way, gentle reminders that keep us on the path.
This idea is not original; G-d intended, back in Deuteronomy 6:4-9, to give the nation of Israel ways to remember Him.
Enter the Mezuzah!
A portion of Deuteronomy says, “And these words…you shall write them upon the door posts of your house…”
Mezuzah is Hebrew for doorposts.
These object lessons of faith are usually placed on the right side of the front door of a family’s house.
In some Jewish households, a Mezuzah is placed on every doorpost in the house.
