Known as The Painter of Light^TM, Thomas Kinkade’s art focuses on the beauty of nature, faith, community and friends… all of which the painter found in abundance during his first-ever trip through Israel with his wife Nanette.

Thom found inspiration in the deep history of Jerusalem, the Sea of Galilee, and the unique light of the surrounding desert.  Join Thom as he traces the footsteps of Jesus along the Via Dolorosa, reflects on the spiritual struggle told of in the Garden of Gethsemane, and is touched by The Wailing Wall, site of the great Temple Mount complex and a place of reflection and prayer for tens of thousands of Jews.

During his sojourn, Thomas Kinkade created nine plein-air paintings.  “I set up my canvas on holy ground when I painted Jerusalem Sunset,” says the artist.  “Then I chased the rapidly setting sun so I could establish the effect of God’s presence in this sacred spot.”

This special film captures Thom as he shares his impressions of this deeply spiritual place and reflects on how understanding Biblical history can be a stepping stone to understanding the world today.
